After a damage assessment, SERVPRO restorers determined wall systems were too damaged to clean and preserve. In situations like these, it is often more cost-efficient to remove and replace drywall, trim, and other materials than employ time-consuming and intrusive cleaning with no guarantees of success. 

As you can see in the Before Photo, the wall systems have been stripped down to their OSB board, plywood, and stud framing. This process prevents fire damage effects like odors and soot particles from getting worse or migrating elsewhere in the house. In this state, our team inspected the exposed structural cavities for fire or water damage before preparing for repairs and build-back. This evaluation sought to discover: 

- Fire and smoke damage

- Moisture damage 

- Microbial growth

- Foul odors

Our General Contractor license #999460 allows us to replace removed drywall and compromised utilities hidden within these walls. The Before Photo can show electrical wiring, outlets, and switches that required attentive reinstallation. Hanging new drywall and finishing it is one of the many services our SERVPRO team can provide and allowed us to quickly reconstruct surface materials of the wall in this house. 

To provide the outcome seen in the After Photo, our restoration team primed and painted newly installed drywall, completing this process by fitting new baseboard trim for the main floor room and the staircase landing. Our positive output on an extreme damage scenario left the customer happy and looking great.
